Katarina has been a radio journalist for most of her professional career, producing radio shows, reports, long-forms for close to two decades. In 2015 she started venturing out into the world of podcasting. She became finalist in the first ever podcast accelerator in the world, hosted by WNYC in Los Angeles. She gradually switched from radio to podcast-producing, however preserving her journalistic standards and work-ethic.
She was an early-creator of podcasts in Slovakia and over the years has created interview-based, narrative podcasts and docu-series in Slovak and English. Her work was internationally recognised and awarded.
Katarina has also helped a number of NGO’s and companies make their topics, initiatives and messages heard through the medium of podcast. In some client-commissioned podcasts Katarina takes on the whole production, creating the podcast independently. With other podcasts – she helps the client set-up their podcast, finding it a fitting format, creating for it a modern sound-design and consulting on technical as well as content issues.
Katarina created the Narativo podcasts initiative to create narrative podcasts – a rare format in the Slovak podcasting landscape, help tell complicated and broad topics in a modern and engaging way and bring more awareness to the medium of podcasting and its nuances.
